Job Training- learning practical job skills and applying them in the work place
Part of the focus of the Bridge Ministry is to provide vocational training to the students while they are enrolled in our program. Currently, we have a variety of options available. These options include training in our auto mechanic and body shop, manufacturing and assembly, electrical work, heating and air, landscaping, gardening, construction, and operating heavy equipment.
The Bridge Ministry began a partnership with Piedmont Virginia Community College in 2018. Through this partnership, the students are able to earn multiple professional certifications in areas such as small engine repair, diesel engine repair, heating and air, electrical work, welding, and many others.
We have worked with the Forest Equipment Operator Training School, Inc where some of our students learned all aspects of logging. You can see an interview that Assistant Director Jay James has with the CEO and Executive Director of the school, Doug Duncan, here.
